In the bustling creative heart of Notting Hill, MG&Co. is transforming how we (attempt to…) tackle our home improvements with the opening of their pop-up Hardware Store this month. Known for its signature playful homewares, the British brand led by designer Matilda Goad, is now venturing into the DIY world, providing a new safe space for all us novices who can’t tell the difference between our dw40 and E45!
They’ll be hosting a series of workshops throughout the month, designed to empower even the most amateaur Bob the Builder. From mastering the art of knife sharpening with Japanese tool brand Niwaki to the essential drill skills, these workshops cater to both the practical fixer and the creative experimenter. Oh, to have both skills…but perhaps we all need room for ambition!
One standout event is the Are You Mad workshop this Wednesday, 11th September. Are You Mad, a waste design studio, will guide attendees through the process of turning discarded plastic into beautiful new creations, injecting a bit of eco-consciousness into every DIY project. And we’ll be making sure to drop by for their weekly Lamp Surgery, where you can breathe new life into old lamps with help from MG&Co.'s in-house electrician.
Whether you’re a DIY newbie or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to experience home improvements outside of your TikTok feed!
