LABELHOOD is back at Harrods for its third consecutive year, celebrating Chinese New Year with a unique showcase running from January 9th to 21st. The exhibition and pop-up shop, titled ‘Spiritual Homeland’, will bring the beauty of Chinese craftsmanship and modern design to one of London’s most iconic shopping destinations.

This year’s theme focuses on the idea of home and belonging, inspired by the experiences of young artists in Jingdezhen, China’s porcelain capital. Through the eyes of photographer Leslie Zhang, someone known for a romantic take on visuals, an exhibition explores how identity is created and roots are shaped, even when far from one’s original birthplace. Visitors will see how traditional Chinese craftsmanship blends with contemporary creativity, offering a fresh perspective on Chinese culture.

As part of the celebration, LABELHOOD will feature two interactive elements at Harrods. The LABELHOOD New Year Pop-Up will showcase limited-edition pieces and handcrafted designs by notable Chinese designers such as UMA WANG, Samuel Gui Yang, HEYAN, CLOT, and Xu Zhi. These designers bring together traditional Chinese techniques with modern fashion to tell stories of heritage and innovation. The pop-up also highlights unique Chinese craft brands like 1300 and Tang Shui Studio, offering an exciting look at the future of Chinese design.

Another feature, the LABELHOOD Family Photo Booth, invites visitors to take photos and capture the festive spirit of Chinese New Year. Not quite the 1980s Sears Photography studio revival, this is a chic way to take away something from the participatory experience of getting to Harrods and getting to the upper levels as reward.

LABELHOOD, a platform that promotes young Chinese talent, has worked with the Shanghai Fashion Design Association (SFDA) and FASHION SHANGHAI to present this exhibition. Their flagships in Shanghai showcase the best multi-brand curation in a city teeming with marquee brands and logos, and it’s exciting to get their curated eye here in London. So head down to what feels like a unique collaboration between David and Goliath, resulting in some very heartwarming retail magic.

Open from the 9th to the 21st January at 87-135 Brompton Rd, London SW1X 7XL Harrods
