because we're obsessed | Jan 9, 2025

2025 is going to be rough. There’s no two ways about it - from politics to social media to fashion, the tension is present. But it’s at these moments when there is the most opportunity for change.  So we’ve asked some of our team to share the things they are most excited about for 2025 - from fashion, to music, to exhibitions and more in case they inspire and provide another lens in which to discover.

He shoots, he scores
After being blown away by a show of the arresting portraiture of Peter Hujar in Venice earlier this year, I can’t wait for the opening of his new show at Raven Row in January. His monochrome snapshots of luminaries of the 1970s New York art scene – John Waters, Fran Lebowitz, William S Burroughs – are staggering in their vividness and emotional clarity.

40 days and 40 nights
I’ve been anticipating Terrence Malick’s epic The Way of the Wind, retelling the life of Jesus, since it was first announced in 2019. With over 3000 hours of footage shot, it’s been Malick’s passion project for decades: several premiere dates have come and gone to no avail. Fingers crossed it will premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival as promised.

The smell of success
Every year, the niche perfumery world descends on Milan for Esxence, a showcase of the world’s most radical olfactory experiments. This February, I am hoping to be part of the madding crowd, multiple test strips clasped between my fingers, before leaving in a heavenly-scented haze.

Full house of leather
As the years go by, the spectre of twink death looms ever nearer, yet this Ludovic de Saint Sernin Robert Leather Coat, as seen worn by Troye Sivan on his Sweat Tour, will sweeten the deal significantly.

When hunger strikes
Omakase, which translates to “I leave it up to you”, is a Japanese culinary tradition of entrusting the chef to serve delicious seasonal specialities. Two of London’s finest omakase practitioners, Tamas Naszai and Tomoko Hasegawa, are soon to launch their new restaurant Himi later this year, and you best believe I will be front of the queue when it does.
