Bianca Saunders launches weekend pop up in collaboration with PUMA
Bianca Saunders teams up with PUMA for a three-day cultural experience in Bethnal Green, showcasing her SS25 collection 'The Hotel' alongside Caribbean wellness programming, curated soundscapes, and archive pieces in a space designed to celebrate community
Bianca Saunders has always worked at the intersection of memory, identity and design and now she’s inviting us into that space too. This week Bianca Saunders and PUMA open the doors to ‘38 Love Lane’, a three-day pop-up in Bethnal Green that brings Caribbean culture, community and creativity into a shared space.
Running 7–10 August and timed with Jamaican Independence Day, the project expands on Saunders’ latest zine of the same name. Made with Amsterdam-based photographer Kwabena Sekyi Appiah-Nti, the publication weaves together family archives, portraiture and an interview with Saunders’ mother to reflect on identity, masculinity and memory. Now, those ideas step off the page and into a setting that invites you to look, listen, reflect and celebrate.
The space has been shaped by set designer Y Lan Lucas, known for her instinctive way of layering references. Expect clean design with cues pulled from Caribbean homes and landscapes, framed by imagery from the zine and a soundscape curated by DJ Stephanie Okoye. There’s also a full schedule across the weekend: think morning yoga led by Louis Walcott (offering a Caribbean approach to wellness) and high-energy evening sets from Donnie Sunshine and Kevin, blending R&B, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Afrobeat.
Of course, fashion is central too. Saunders’ SS25 collection, ‘The Hotel’, reimagines the aesthetic of 1940s Jamaican resorts through tailored silhouettes, soft textures and a palette that feels sun-warmed and considered. Archive pieces will also be available, alongside PUMA’s new H-Street drop, a nod to the brand’s long-standing connection to Jamaican athletics.
On Sunday, things end around the table. Saunders and her mother will host a traditional Jamaican dinner, cooked and shared with guests. No spectacle, just food, stories and a reminder that creativity often begins at home.
There’s no shortage of pop-ups in London, but few feel this personal. At a time when fashion can often feel distant or untouchable, it’s worth celebrating those who choose to nurture their community, share their influences, and make you feel part of the process. Bianca Saunders is doing exactly that and 38 Love Lane is the open door.
